KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is collaborating with the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (EPU) to organise a seminar on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7), focusing on Malaysia’s efforts towards affordable, sustainable and clean energy.
As the national utility company in Malaysia, TNB said it is "in the driver’s seat to deliver the nation’s energy transition” and is committed to achieving its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.
Themed "A Journey Towards Energy Transition”, the seminar seeks to highlight the collective roles and efforts across the public and private sectors in developing and supporting the country’s UN SDG targets. "Together, TNB and EPU seek to focus the attention on the nation’s goal to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and clean energy," said TNB in a statement.
The half-day event scheduled on Aug 9, 2022, will be featuring a keynote address by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

There will be a panel discussion entitled "Collaboration Towards the Future of Clean Energy in Malaysia,” featuring leading panellists from the industry and other stakeholders.
"The session will discuss matters such as energy transition and how to manage (it), the pathway to this transition, critical enablers, and the various ways to move Malaysia forward towards this goal, through public-private collaboration," said the company.
The seminar will be concluded with a presentation paper by the Energy Commission CEO Abdul Razib Dawood, entitled "Public Role Towards the Future of Clean Energy in Malaysia.”
